Microsoft Outlook 2003: Introduction for Beginners

Course Overview

This course is designed for delegates who are to begin using Microsoft Outlook, or are converting from another email/personal organiser package such as Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Exchange/Schedule+. It is not appropriate for users of previous versions of Microsoft Outlook.

On completion of the Microsoft training course, Microsoft users will be well equipped to use Outlook

Course participants who have not previously used email and scheduling applications, or who have only a limited knowledge of the features of Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.

Skills Gained

How to manage personal productivity using the Email, Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Journal and Notes tools in Office Outlook.

Prerequisites

It is essential that the delegate has successfully completed either the Windows NT/2000/XP Introductory course, or has gained similar knowledge within the work environment.

  • Using the Navigation Pane, the Folder List and Search Folders
  • AutoPreview and Reading Pane
  • Creating, reading and replying to/forwarding email messages
  • Message options - Flag for Follow Up, Delivery/Read receipts and Voting buttons
  • Creating Signatures
  • Calendar navigation
  • Creating Appointments, Recurring Appointments and Events
  • Arranging meetings and viewing Group Schedules
  • Creating, using and finding Contact entries
  • Distribution lists
  • Creating and using Tasks
  • Assigning Tasks to others
  • Creating Journal entries
  • Searching for Activity details
  • Creating , formatting and editing Notes
  • Forward Notes to other users or saving them to the Desktop
  • Creating and using Folders and Outlook data files
  • Outlook options, tools and wizards
