Financial Statements Modeling is the foundation for all subsequent modeling modules. Real case studies are used to build full fledge models in Excel. Step-by-step approach is used to instil modeling skills with the theoretical basics.

  • Learn formatting and structural best practices
  • Income statement , Balance sheet , and Cash flow statement
  • Supporting schedules: Working Capital, Deferred Taxes, PP&E / Depreciation, Intangible Assets, Retained Earnings , and Debt & Interest
  • Financial Ratios Output Sheet

  • Balancing the model and inserting automated crosschecks

Discount Cash Flows (DCF) Valuation Modeling:

Real life case studies are used to conduct a valuation of a target company using the DCF method. The trainees learn how to calculate WACC and terminal values.

  • Handling stub periods and midyear adjustments
  • Handling working capital items, deferred taxes and long-term accruals
  • Common pitfalls - enterprise vs. equity value, unlevered vs. levered FCF

  • Calculating net debt and treatment of debt equivalents such as preferred stock, convertible securities , capital leases , and minority interest

  • Using data tables to analyze a broad range of scenarios given different assumption

Transaction/Trading Comps Modeling:

Trainees work on real life case studies to calculate EV and Equity values of the company. These are the most common analysis performed by investment bankers.
