Course Overview

This haf-day course will first investigate the two most significant trends in IT since virtualization 5 years ago. These trends are Cloud Computing and Consumerisaton of IT. These trends are happening with or without of the support of the corporate IT. Device mobility is making the control, management and security of these trends incredibly difficult.

With the release of Windows 8 next year, these trends will increase dramatically due to consumer slate device availability running all the corporate applications. To ensure that a company today can provide the tools and resources for its employees who want and need to work today and tomorrow, we have to ensure the enabling technologies and solutions are in place now.

To give us all this capability requires the updating of our almost 10 year old XP/Windows Server 2003 infrastructure to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to have enlightened functionality and capability. Never before has the IT we used been driven more by our employees and we need to ensure we embrace this change to ensure we maintain data security, availability and manageability of our infrastructure.
