Overview

The 5-day PRINCE2 program comprises a 3-day Foundation Module followed by the 2-day Practitioner Module, which can be taken together or separately. Through practice exams, workshops and overnight study, you gain the knowledge and skills required to first of all take the Foundation Exam on Day 3 and then the Practitioner Exam on Day 5 of the program.

  • The full 5-day PRINCE2 Practitioner Certificate Program is designed for current or aspiring project management professionals who need to fully master this leading PM method and at the same time obtain a globally-recognised certification. This program is also ideal for anyone intending to become a PRINCE2 Consultant or PRINCE2 Trainer. The course provides a very comprehensive coverage of PRINCE2 including the 7 PRINCIPLES, 7 THEMES, 7 PROCESSES as well as full preparation for the Foundation and Practitioner Certificate exams.
  • The PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate Course taken on its own is designed for those who are not necessarily aspiring for professional level knowledge but who nevertheless require a sufficient understanding of this project management methodology – such as people working in projects, people initiating projects, business representatives, team leaders, those with an interest in project management or who are considering moving into that field.
  • If you take the Foundation module on its own you may at a later date take the Practitioner module and complete the full program.

The 5-day program comprises a 3-day Foundation Module and 2-day Practitioner Preparation Module, which can be taken together or separately.

The Foundation module ensures that participants acquire the skills and knowledge to be able to act as an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method within a project environment supporting PRINCE2. Through practice exams, workshops and evening study, you will gain the knowledge and skills required to take both the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exams.

The Practitioner module is designed to provide the in-depth knowledge and understanding necessary to ensure you are able to apply PRINCE2 to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2.

PRINCE2 Foundation

The PRINCE2 Foundation course provides you with the PRINCE2 principles, terminology and when qualified, you can act as an informed member of a project management team.

PRINCE2 Foundation can be studied on its own or as a prerequisite for the PRINCE2 Practitioner course. On completion of the course you should understand the structure and key terminology of the method:

  • The characteristics and context of a project and the benefits of adopting PRINCE2
  • The purpose of the PRINCE2 roles, management products and themes
  • The PRINCE2 principles
  • The purpose, objectives and context of the PRINCE2 processes.

 

PRINCE2 Practitioner

The PRINCE2 Practitioner is designed for people who are running projects themselves. This qualification teaches you to apply PRINCE2 to your project within an environment supporting PRINCE2. You’ll have a comprehensive knowledge of the relationships between the PRINCE2 principles, themes and processes and PRINCE2 products and will understand these elements.

On completion of the course you should be able to apply and understand how to tailor PRINCE2 effectively to a project within an organisation environment supporting PRINCE2:

  • Understand the relationships between the roles, management products, principles, themes, techniques and processes
  • Be able to apply the principles, themes and processes to a project
  • Be able to create and assess management products

Certification

FOUNDATION

The Foundation course includes the PRINCE2 Foundation online exam which consists of:

  • 60 minutes
  • 60 multiple-choice questions
  • 55% pass mark is (33/60)
  • Closed book exam
PRACTITIONER

The Practitioner course includes the PRINCE2 Practitioner online exam which consists of:

  • Multiple-choice format based on a project scenario
  • 68 questions
  • 55% pass mark (38/68)
  • 150 minutes (2.5 hours) duration
  • Open book (Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 7th Edition publication permitted – no other materials permitted)

Sitting your exam

On the last day of your Foundation or Practitioner course you will receive an invitation to book your online proctored exam directly with PeopleCert. You have 6 months to schedule and sit your exam online.

The PRINCE2 Practitioner certificate is valid for three years, at the end of which you will need to either resit the Practitioner exam OR you can maintain your certificate through AXELOS membership.

PeopleCert administers the PRINCE2 examination scheme. CM is an accredited partner of PeopleCert.

All candidates who pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam are eligible to claim one year’s MyPRINCE2 Membership.

AXELOS will email you directly with an invitation to activate your membership.
