An increase in the volume and velocity of data has spurred a need for new techniques to understand and convey its meaning. Data visualizations are graphical means of summarizing and describing data and software, such as Tableau, allow the ability to quickly create those visualizations. Unfortunately, increasing software capabilities does not always mean better communication of the message. Quite frequently, the message 'gets lost' in overly complicated and messy visualizations. This course teaches participants how to link the data they have and the message they want to deliver. Its emphasis is on the art and science of communicating with data and shows participants how to accomplish this in the context Tableau's capabilities and functionality.
