Overview

This course is an ITIL Extension Module. For more detailed information on the ITIL Master Pathway, please navigate to the bottom of this page.

COP 26 - November 2021 – This is the decade that will decide human history.

Sustainability, carbon neutrality and reduction in the use of fossil fuels are at the forefront of everyone's mind. Business leaders and managers will be measured on their action and reaction to global warming, to world hunger and the development of those countries and society's that have not had the advantage of benefitting from the industrial revolutions of the past.

This course is designed to bring together the concepts of best practice and service management with the focus on changing businesses, focussing on the sustainability of the business itself and the supply chains that support or enable it. Sustainability in Digital & IT is a new extension module that compliments ITIL. Created with the UN, UNESCO and UNICEF it is a two-and-a-half-day course that explores how digital organizations can progress and how organisations should look forward and understand not only their impact upon the planet but how they can adapt and change to delivery the sustainability that both worldwide governments and local communities want. The mantra that runs throughout the course is ‘Think Globally, Act locally’

Who should attend?

It is aimed at anyone looking to understand the role IT and digitally enabled services have in relation to the environment, whilst exploring opportunities to positively impact it.

Examination

After successfully completing the in-course assignments, learners must complete a one-hour, closed book, examination of 35 questions with Peoplecert invigilators. Pass rate is 70% (25/35) Important information: This examination is a standalone module – Axelos/Peoplecert have chosen to call it an extension module – true it extends knowledge, but it has ZERO bearing on gaining the ITIL Managing Professional or ITIL Strategist qualification award.

PeopleCert exams take place remotely via PeopleCert Online Proctoring, and the afternoon of the last day of your course will continue with your learning until approximately 4.00pm. When booking your exam please ensure that it is for a time after the course has concluded and at a time convenient for you. You will be required to download and install ExamShield and conduct a compatibility test prior to sitting the exam.

Audience

  • Understand how to use the ITIL guiding principles to deliver value by creating sustainable digitally enabled products and services
  • Effectively address VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) challenges through sustainable strategies, procurement, products and practices

  • Conduct a full cost benefit analysis identifying potential risks and opportunities using best practice guidance.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course although an understanding of ITIL terminology would be helpful.

Certification

PeopleCert examinations are remotely proctored. Once registered by the QA exam administration team you will receive an exam registration email directly from PeopleCert. This email will contain the necessary instruction on how to schedule your exam.

Official course manuals will be provided as an eBook resource for learners undertaking this course.

For open book exams learners are permitted to use a second device to access the official course manual, the use of dual monitors is not permitted during the exam.

***Due to the current high demand for online exams, there may be limited time slots available. Delegates are invited to contact Peoplecert directly regarding the provision of additional sessions. We would recommend delegates follow this process and re-access the live calendar regularly as Peoplecert will add additional sessions where demand dictates. ***
