Overview

  • Do you know what skills your teams need in order to extend or transform capability?
  • Can people in your teams see career development opportunities and the skills they need to focus on?

As your business evolves and matures, you need a managed approach to skills development: to cross-skill, upskill and also to facilitate recruitment. Role-focused skills profiles, aligned to an industry standard framework, will provide benchmarks for a subsequent analysis of skills gaps and areas for individual development.

This 1-day workshop combines practical learning with an opportunity to apply the skills learned in your own context. In the morning, we'll introduce you to the world's most popular framework, SFIA: Skills Framework for the Information Age®. You will learn how SFIA describes incrementing levels of responsibility and how to map roles appropriately. You will practise creating well-formed and focused skills profiles for recognised job-roles.

In the afternoon, you will be able to work on skills profiles for a particular role or job-family in your own organisation. Your experienced CourseMonster tutor will help you to get started and will be on hand to provide guidance and assistance. The day concludes with a review of your opportunities to apply and promote skills management practices in your own organisation.

  • Determine the SFIA skills needed in a particular situation, job or assignment and determine the level at which the skills are required
