The purpose of the one-day course is to enable staff to identify improvement opportunities in service delivery, based on Agile principles, practices, and techniques. It also prepares them to work in a Scrum team.

Agile is referred to as a set of practices or methods which are based on the values and principles as expressed in the Agile Manifesto. Agile helps to improve communication among self-organized, cross-functional teams working in a collaborative environment. Scrum is a framework used to implement Agile development.

The practices followed in Agile development helps to enhance productivity, address issues, respond to new opportunities and meet the demands of the customers, without losing focus on continuous improvement through an iterative approach. Barclays, a 326 years old investment banking and financial services company with around 130,000 employees adopted Agile as this methodology encouraged hundreds of teams turning them to become champions of an Agile transition.

With an increase in Agile adoption over the last few years, it has been observed that Agile projects are 28% more successful than traditional projects. Some of the top companies hiring Agile & Scrum professionals are J. P. Morgan, Philips, Chase, Barclays, Accenture, UnitedHealth Group,and Infosys. Agile and Scrum provides a flexible development strategy, which has proven to be beneficial to teams, organizations, products as well as individuals. To reap its advantages, it is necessary to use it, implement it while at the same time inspect and adapt the implementation of Scrum.
