Business Process Modelling is a technique which facilitates the analysis, design and documentation of business processes. The technique is not limited to the IT industry and may be used in any business area of any industry.

The course covers version 2 of BPMN which stands for Business Process Modelling and Notation. BPMN is the new standard for modelling business processes and Web Services and aims to provide businesses with the capability to represent their internal business procedures in a graphical notation and the ability to communicate these procedures in a standard manner.

This course gives delegates the ability to apply sound business processing techniques to help improve the effectiveness of those processes and of the business as a whole.

At the end of the course attendees will be able to:

  • Model business processes using BPMN.
  • Document current and required business processes.
  • Use models to analyse and design efficient and effective business processes.


This course is aimed at senior and line managers, consultants, business analysts and project leaders who are involved in improving the effectiveness of business processes or who wish to ensure that IT applications are built on a firm foundation of effective business processes.


There are no formal prerequisites for this course, but a basic understanding of business analysis would be helpful.
