This new and exciting, three-day course is designed to support experienced Agile practitioners as they move into supporting and coaching Agile teams in their organisation. It teaches the skills needed for an effective coach and mentor to bring the best out in the teams they support and to help them achieve maximum benefit from their Agile transformation.
The course is aligned with the ICAgile Agile Facilitation and Coaching specialty track , which has been designed by leading international experts to outline the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective Agile Coach.
The course is deeply experiential, immersing the participants in hands-on coaching exercises and using that experience to apply and reinforce the coaching theory. It will prepare participants to effectively undertake the role of Agile Coach in an organisation.
This course covers a number of learning objectives from the ICAgile Agile Facilitation and Coaching specialty track (see content headings below). The remaining learning objectives for this track are covered in our Agile Facilitation course.
To become a Certified Agile Expert (within this track), you will need to:
Be a Certified ICAgile Professional (or be recognised at this level by ICAgile )
Complete all ICAgile Agile Facilitation and Coaching learning objectives (which can be achieved by successfully completing Software Education's two courses; Agile Facilitation and Iteration Management and Agile Coaching)
Have obtained real-life experience in the track discipline
Complete a knowledge and/or competency evaluation (through ICAgile).
Please note: this is an expert level course designed for people with prior experience and fundamental training with Agile practices. See prerequisites below.
Anyone working on an Agile project who aspires to the role of Agile Coach.
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
understand the mindset and role of the Agile Coach
experience and apply techniques to coach and communicate effectively
understand how to mentor and coach people
know what is needed to effectively start up an Agile team
understand and have techniques to help grow and develop teams.
This is an advanced Agile course which is not suitable for people brand new to Agile practices.
Participants need to have completed formal Agile training (such as Software Education's, ICAgile accredited, Agile Fundamentals course) and have at least 12 months experience working in an Agile team. If you are unsure as to your applicability for attending please contact us to discuss.
If you are aiming for certification as an ICAgile Expert in Facilitation and Coaching then you must first be a Certified ICAgile Professional (or be recognised at this level by ICAgile) and need to complete both this course and our Agile Facilitation and Iteration Management course.
If you need training for 3 or more people, you should ask us about onsite training. Putting aside the obvious location benefit, content can be customised to better meet your business objectives and more can be covered than in a public classroom. It's a cost effective option.
