The course is designed to take you beyond your existing Foundation level understanding of the ITIL framework, and provides a toolkit and guidance to allow you to become a confident ITIL Practitioner. By working with world-class organisations, we are uniquely able to bring you a course that will give you the best opportunity to develop your service management career and enable you to have the essential skills to apply ITIL in your organisation.
Although ITIL Foundation is a pre-requisite for ITIL Practitioner, ITIL Practitioner will not be a pre-requisite for the ITIL Intermediate qualifications or ITIL Advanced courses . Candidates will receive 3 credits for successfully passing the examination and these can be used towards higher levels of ITIL certification.
The ITIL Practitioner certificate exam is a scenario-based, multi-choice, open-book style exam supported by a case study. Delegates during the exam will be allowed to refer to the newly published ITIL Practitioner Guidance book from AXELOS, which is provided as part of the courseware. There are 40 questions to be completed in 1 hour 45 minutes. Each question will have 4 possible answer options, and the pass mark is 28 marks from 40 (70%).
By attending the ITIL Practitioner course, candidates should be able to apply and understand how to use ITIL guidance to deliver service improvement within their organisations.

Delegates without evidence of the prerequisites will NOT be permitted to sit the exam. You will receive electronic pre-course reading prior to attending the course. It is a
part of the course attendance that delegates should spend a minimum of 2 to 3 hours reviewing the documents prior to the course. The documents cover 2 main elements (contained in 4 pdf files)
1 - A 28 page Pre-course reading booklet pdf, that covers some of the key basic learning of the ITIL Practitioner syllabus. Delegates are required to have studied and understood the content of this pdf as a
part of pre-course learning, prior to attending the course.
2 - A subset of questions, in a separate pdf file, selected from an ITIL Practitioner sample exam that are designed to test the delegates understanding of the materials in the 28 page pre-course reading booklet. Delegates will need to have attempted these questions whilst referring to the separately provided exam scenario booklet, prior to attending the course. Also provided in the pre-course reading are the answers and rationale to these sample questions.
During the classroom element of the course the same scenario booklet will then be used to base exercises around, to bring the ITIL Practitioner content into focus. The same scenario will then also be used during the actual end of course exam, so it is essential that delegates will need to have familiarised themselves with the content of the scenario.
